Gratitude

Today I wanted to focus on the good things in life. Life has been hard and there seems to be a cloud of darkness that is constantly roaming. My depression has made its grand appearance and for me it manifests in sporadic crying, anxiety, lack of energy and socializing becomes taxing. It is necessary for my mental health to pause, take a deep breath and think about all the positive things in my life. For starters I am grateful to be serving a God who comforts us in all our trials” (2 Cor. 1:4) I am constantly comforted and strengthened by him. I am grateful to have a loving family, they are so supportive. I have an amazing friend that I can talk to about anything. I can’t leave out my beautiful dog, Luna, she has become my unofficial support dog and we do everything together. My weight loss journey has slowed down some because of my depression but I am ecstatic to see that I have lost 18 lbs. Regardless of all the gloomy feelings I continue to find things to be grateful for and it helps me not go deeper down the rabbit hole. Of course when needed I seek a medical professional for help. It is so important for us to be in tune with ourselves and ask for help when we need it. Sometimes we don’t want to burden anyone so we bottle everything up. It creates more feelings of helplessness. Let’s always remember that we are worthy and it’s ok to ask for help when we need it.

Positivity is a lifestyle.
